Jacob's Dream

Above is the design for the Chapel Stained Glass on the theme of "Jacob's Dream"
This is a dream. It is night. Dark clouds billow, but hree stars shine in the sky. White shapes are going up and coming down. A ladder is set upon the ground. The fiery rungs bend inward to an unseen power point. Thirteen attributes of G-d are inscribed upon the dynamic rungs. The golden rails of the ladder are set upon firm footings, whose names are Joachin and Boaz. These ladder rails are topped by crowns. Leaves, in the form of the Hebrew letter, "shin," sprout near the tops of the pillar-like ladder rails. A downward-streaming bush, which burns, but, is not consumed, splits the sky.Two shadowy hands, in the shape of the protective benediction, form a gateway Across the arc of the hands in inscribed the text "How awesome is this place." It is an awesome place, but a narrow place, Jacob has found himself in. Two cliffs of rock impose themselves from either side of the composition. these rocks hem him in, but, on one, someone has scratched words, in Hebrew, which translate, "This is none other than the abode of G-d and this is surely the gateway to heaven." A single rock stands in the right foreground, glowing slightly golden, lit by the light at the unseen power center (where the ark will be). On this rock, it appears as if the coloration spells out the single word, "El."
