Design for the Main Sanctuary Ark and Stained Glass
December 2, 2009
In the version, below, the subtle technique of air brushed transparent enamels is expanded to include the ark door art glass, creating a truly painterly appearance.
White geometric shapes contribute a sense of contrast, order and detail to the spontaneous, free-form exhuberance of color and brushstroke.
Each white shape is a reflection of an ark door, as well as an icon-like symbol of an angel's wing.
Ten white shapes flank the ark and eighteen white shapes, stand, like collumns, at the sides. The grey background represents clear glass.
