Designs for Chapel Ark and West Wall Window
December 14, 2009

Above, a revision of the design for the Chapel window reflecting the changes we discussed last week. We enlarged the proportions of the central image of the design. We eliminated as many of the actual window muntins and replaced them with lead lines which show as thinner lines, above, dividing the background. We eliminated the gems of the twelve tribes. We placed the colors into the apexes of the six pointed star.

Revision to the design for the chapel ark include: changing the color of the pomegranate branches from black to a rust-brown. We softened the colors of the pomegrante leaves, by reducing the contrast among the leaf colors.
We also softened the color of the pomegranates, by adding a little green. We changed the color of the text of the Ten Commandments to a color suggesting bronze or gold leaf. We warmed up the wood grain on the ark background. We eliminated the notch at the top of the ark background. We enlarged the Ner Tamid.
We changed the color of the text, above the ark, placed it on a curve and reversed the position of the text and the Ner Tamid, placing the Ner Tamid above. We also redrew the ark doors to show their arched top rail.
